The GLF is a fund-raiser for an excellent gardening-in-the-schools program in central Vermont.<br \/>\nOne of the workshops will be a very basic how-to demo with a discussion of what &#8220;heirloom&#8221; varieties are. In the second, I&#8217;ll talk about my Shetland potato project and growing new potato varieties from true potato seed using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patnsteph.net\/weblog\/2009\/11\/tom-wagner-on-growing-and-saving-true-potato-seeds-tps\/\">Tom Wagner&#8217;s great techniques<\/a>; and about &#8220;naturalizing&#8221; food plants in the garden (ie, getting plants you want to sow themselves).
